Other black artists have repeatedly snagged Academy Awards in categories such as Sound mixing, Original Song, Original Score, Best music, and Best Sound. Historically, White America has enjoyed watching us sing and dance. Accordingly, we have been rewarded more for our musical giftedness than we have for the more cerebral art of acting.

If they gave us an award every time we deserved it we'd have a lot more than what's listed here. Two that immediately come to mind are Angela Bassett & Lawrence Fishburn for "What's Love Got To Do With It".
I also thought Eddie Murphy got robbed this year for best supporting actor in Dreamgirls.

This list is unbelievably short. Sad.

I thought Eddie Murphy was good in that film, actually.

My only probem with Eddie is that he didn't make that transition from a comedic actor to a serious one unlike his contemporaries (Tom Hanks,Robin Williams,Bill Murray,etc.).
I always thought he would have made a very good leading man.He has a natural masculine charisma without the pretty boy looks. I know I am crazy but I could actually see him paired up with Angie Jolie.
I think when that trannie episode happened a couple of years again...he found himself trying to revamp his image to more fam -friendly ( Dr. doolittle,Nutty Professor, etc)unless of a pervert.

Hey, has anyone ever noticed that Eddie has never been with a White woman rather on screen or off. I saw him on Oprah a couple of years ago when one of the audience members asked him if he was attracted to White women....he said that he preferred to marry black.

You know, it never occurred to me that maybe that's why he did fam-friendly movies. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. LOL

BA don't act like Three6 Mafia doesn't exist. I downed a bottle of red wine and called my friend depressed after that gyrating, staggering pimp dance....

Just like how I thought Adrianna Barazza (Babel) was robbed that same year for Best Supporting Actress.
