I think Marlon Wayans is a wonderful comedic talent… most of the time. Sometimes he’s a little much and a bit over the top.
But I liked Marlon Wayans in Requiem for a Dream (2000).
Admittedly, I was surprised when I watched Wayans play heroin addict Tyrone C. Love, who longed for the love of his mother and spent his days dulling the pain by using and hustling the drug.
Because I’d only seen him in comedic roles, I would not have thought he had the chops to do a dramatic role justice. Did he ever! He was vulnerable. He was spectacular in this film.
I’d like to see him in more dramatic roles.
Don’t sleep on this dude.

I have not even heard of this movie! I will definitely check it out cuz don't think I've ever seen him in a serious role. Sounds like he did a good job with it tho.

You'd be surprised. This was a good movie, with an outstanding performance by Ellen Burstyn. Actually, all the actors in it were good. Check it out, Kimi, when you get a chance.

Comedic actors especially of color(John Leguizamo,Anthony Anderson, Jamie Foxx) have proven to deliver tour de force performances as dramatic actors.
Thanks for adding Marlon Wayans to that group. I will definitely check the movie out.

That was a great movie! I can't stand Marlon's comedic acting, it like that kid in grade school who would do stupid stuff just to get a reaction. However his dramatic stuff is very good. I hope he decides to explore this side of his acting more.

That was a good movie, wasn't it? Yeah... stupid stuff just to get a reaction. I agree. I too, hope that he does more dramatic stuff.
