I just saw Hotel Rwanda (2004). Don Cheadle starred in this film, as Paul Rusesabagina.
There was something in the movie worth mentioning:
I tell you… it was so GREAT to see a black man:
- display courage and bravery
- be a leader
- possess innate goodness
- be respectable
- show respect
- display unselfishness
- be proud
- take control
This was so refreshing and so wonderful to see.

I'm ashamed to say I still haven't seen Hotel Rwanda. But will add this flick to my Thanksgiving movie list & watch it then! :-)
In general, I do like Don Cheadle & think he's underrated or get offered enough roles.

This film is an epic. I have to say, I was so impressed with how they dealt with the content of this film.
My father used to work in Rwanda & I have been to Kigali so it was an emotional choice to watch this film but I truly enjoyed it.
Okonedo was brilliant in this film and great to see a Black British actress in a starring role too.

I will be highlighting her on this blog because her talent does not deserve to go unnoticed. I like her. I'm just starting to tune into Okonedo. I'm definitely feeling her. She was outstanding in this film. She was also good in Dirty Pretty. I'm glad you enjoyed this film. I did, too. :)

I thought the movie was really good, and Don Cheadle easily deserved that Oscar nomination. He is my favorite actor right now, because he brings it in every role he takes. I still need to see "Talk To Me" because I hear that one was good, even though it was slept-on at the box office.

@ Listentoleon
Yup. I agree. The movie was good and Don Cheadle absolutely deserved that Oscar nomination. I didn't see Talk to Me either. Hopefully, it'll be on DVD soon. He's such a good actor.

I stan for Don Cheadle (& Okonedo sp). It feels so good to see blacks being portrayed as humans.
Y'all should check out Jeffrey Wright. Those two are the black kings of cinema right now!!
I wanted to see them in topdog/underdog but couldn't make it :(
