Okay, friends: This was bday weekend (Saturday was bday).
Because i'm slightly hungover and don't feel like thinking, i could only manage the following post for Monday; haven't had chance to prepare anything over the last few days.
Anyhoo, um, let's see... er
One of the following actresses played a lesbian character and kissed a woman on-screen. Was it...
Regina King, Angela Bassett or Nia Long?
That was supposed to be the end of the post, but I wanted to add that I give a lot of credit to the actress who did this -- and to any black actor who does this -- and who is unafraid to play a gay character... especially one who kisses their same sex partner onscreeen...
More on this... one day.

Hi TBA,
H-A-P-P-Y-B-I-R-T-H-D-A-Y!!!! (Hands her a couple of Tylenol)
It was Nia Long, I can't remember the film. I remember reading about it. I think the point of the piece was that it is so rare to see mainstream Black actresses play a lesbian role.
Is “mainstream Black actresses” an oxymoron? Lol

@ Mes Deux
Hi Mes Deux. And thank you! :) Er, I used Excedrin. LOL. I think it is an oxymoron. It sounds so strange reading and saying those words, doesn't it?
@ Stacey
Thank you Stacey. LOL.
I'll post the answer today. :)

Based on the previous answers its Nia Long :-) But what was the name of that flick? I'd like to think it wasn't that unforgettable that I saw it & forgot about it!
Glad you had a good birthday lady! :-)

BLackActor.Com you are going to be piss my friend. Beyonce is going to be playing Etta James read below.
According to Blackvoices.com, Beyoncé will join Cedric the Entertainer, Jeffrey Wright, Columbus Short, Tammy Blanchard, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Oscar winner Adrien Brody in the period piece, set in 1950's Chicago. Cadillac Records explores the rise and fall of Chess Records, the label responsible for kicking off the careers of Chuck Berry, Etta James and Muddy Waters.
Brody will play Leonard Chess, who launched the label from the back of his Cadillac. The role was vacated by Matt Dillon, who was forced to give up the part because of a scheduling conflict. Cedric the Entertainer will play Willie Dixon, songwriter for many Chess Records hits, including "Hoochie Coochie Man." Jeffrey Wright will portray Muddy Waters.
I say enough is enough. I'm sick and tired of these talentless people who don't give a damn about movies. Taking people's roles. It has to stop

Talib said it best
"So our kids lookin' up to drug dealers and rappers

It was Nia Long in "If These Wall Could Talk 2" and HBO movie. She played a college student who was part of a feminist organization.

@ Pathofalegend
I read that somewhere yesterday. I should say I saw that somewhere. I didn't even read it. I got that same cringing feeling I did when they said Puffy was gonna be in Raisin In The Sun.
Personally, I'm very unhappy about it; very much so. It's an outrage to young struggling actresses in this country. And Beyonce can't even act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course, I love Talib's line. :) Interesting.
Thanks for sharing this stuff with us, Pathofalegend!
@Cherish1034
I know it was NIA LONG -- The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy.
But was it also If These Walls Could Talk 2? I actually saw this but my memory is fuzzy. LOL
That would be quite something if she's done it twice. Hmmmmmmmm.
