he is kind of an interesting "character", because he ushered in a new type of reality tv star. the fadded celebrity, who wanted to use reality tv for a comeback or some quick cash. as far as feeding his kids, i was under the impression that child support wasn't high on his list of priorities.

Mes Deux Cents

Hi TBA,

First; what's with the troll hair?

The Dutch and Japanese and others are thinking that Flava is the epitome of Blackness. That he represents what most Black Americans are like.

Stereotypes about us are spread around the world and have been since someone figured our how to take a picture.

But a lot of people don't get that.

Viacom is the main reason I canceled my cable. I may not be able to stop Viacom from producing this stuff but I darn sure don't have to give them any of my money.

Sorry about the little rant. :)

What do you think the Dutch and others think?

Kimi

Sigh. I'm one of those guilty of having watched this trash television at one point or another. For awhile this is all anyone was talking about. I watched a marathon & got hooked. Now I call it my mindless entertainment lol.

At least he's not out there knocking nobody in their head for their money, it is a honest living if VH1 wants to pay him for that.

Kimi

and Mes Deux Cents is right ... there's been at least 4 of these "finding love in all the wrong places" spinoff shows based on Flavor of Love. I hope he got a commission for each spinoff lol.

@ Iris

Girl, you prolly right about the kids. LOL.

@ Mes Deux

Good for you! I dig when people take a stand (even when it's inconvenient -- or might be inconvenient). theblackactor.com looooooves rants. What do I think? What do I think? I think they think we're a bunch of goddamn fools. They prolly question why this kind of imagery still exists. It doesn't even matter that this is not true. Image. Image. Image. Image. It's one of the main reasons this blog.
exists. It is everything and it shapes viewpoints and perspectives.

@ Kimi

Chile, I ain't gon lie. I watched most of one of the Flava of Love Seasons. I'm not quite sure how this happened; particularly since I never watch episodic TV. Anyhoo, I did watch one of the Flava seasons (the one with New York and Hoops). I was secretly embarrassed and shamed by this, but I watched it. I actually started to watch the next season. I watched the first episode and some broad shit on herself. At that very moment, I stopped watching. I said, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU (meaning me). I wondered why I was watching it. I was watching it because I musta felt the show was strangely entertaining. But the bigger question was WHY ARE YOU COSIGNING WITH THIS. I realized I no longer cosigned with that.

You ever did something in the past and look back on it now and say WHAT WAS I THINKING??!!

And I also believe there is a place for mindless entertainment.

LOL

kimi

YES I have - watching this show is the most recent thing I looked back on & said WTF? to myself lol.

Funny, they lost me when that happened too (the chick crapping on herself). I don't ever want to be that mindless lol.

the obenson report

Isn't there going to be another one of these coming up? Flavor of Love 4 or 5 or 6? I thought I heard.

theblackactor.com

@ Obenson

Yeah; I think there is a Flava of Love 16 or sumpin coming on this year.

invisiblewoman

This is off topic too, but that is one ugly ghetto lookin cake, lol.

theblackactor.com
