I was wondering what -- actually, I'm very interested in -- what you guys like to see.
What is your preferred genre?
Action, Adventure, War, Westerns, Romance, Sci Fi, Horror, Drama, Comedy, Epics / Historical, Crime/Gangster? Other genres or subgenres I haven't mentioned?
As for me, I enjoy drama, psychological thrillers, suspense, supernatural.

I can't really say I prefer any genre in particular. I just like a good, entertaining flick.
I can say I'm not a western fan. I only liked two: "High Noon" which I was forced to see in college & ended up enjoying lol and "Posse" which I only saw because it was an all AA cast & enjoyed.

I like them all and I especially love westerns. Though my least favorite are romantic comdeies, but then again I'm a guy. What straight man does? I would rather sit through one of those Saw movies then watch a romantic comedy with Gabrielle Union

Hi TBA,
I like off-beat films no matter the genre. Examples; Roger Dodger, When Night Is Falling, Mona Lisa, I Shot Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Sideways, The Professional, A Bronx Tale, Into the Night, Ann B Real, etc.
By the way since you like psychological thrillers; have you seen Memento starring Guy Pearce?

@ Kimi
Girl, I forgot all about Posse. LOL
@ Sergio
LOL. Yucky. Westerns. My father (RIP) used to love hisself some westerns. LOL.
@ Mes Deux
I did see Memento; but didn't like cuz I didn't know what the hell was going on. I'll watch it again; someday -- unless you say it should be sooner rather than later.

i guess i have more plebian tastes. i prefer action, comedy and romantic comedies. my brother and sister are sometimes embarrassed by what i watch. but i want to see everything, the good the bad and the ugly. however i have had a serious crush on clint eastwood so i will watch a western for him.

No strict preference for me... I can do them all. I love all cinema. Just depends on the film. And unlike Sergio above, I dig romantic comedies... again, depends on the individual film. And yes, last I checked, I am pretty sure that I'm a straight guy... although I don't know where exactly I am on the Kinsey Scale :o) Woody Allen made a couple of great romantic comedies in the 70s - Annie Hall, Manhattan, and most recently Husbands & Wives in the early 90s.

Hmmm. This is interesting, so far. I must be odd man out. Seems like most people don't have preferred genres. Hmmm.

TBA,
Lol, I wouldn't say you need to rush and see it again but when you get a chance you might enjoy it more the second time. :)

I don't really have a preference for a specific genre, but I can't stand musicals and I'm not really into romantic comedies.

@ Mes Deux

I love serious dramatic films about black history. I also love comedies that are intelligent and smart. I would just LOVE to see a film made about the Harlem Renaissance! I would scream with delight if a film about this incredible period in black history was made into film. It DESERVES to be in film. I also want to see a bio pic on Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston. Were Langston and Zora lovers? Did Zora know Langston was gay? Why did Zora and Langston seek patronage from Charlotte Osgoode Mason an elderly white woman? How did they find her? Why did Ms. Mason only want primitive black art? Why did Zora and Langston stop being friends after their play Mule Bone didn't work?
